Dr Rosenblum… Dr Cutler… You both hold high on this great honour.
Some employee: The chairman’s here, sir.
General Director: Excellent. Send him in.
Some employee: Run and fetch Mr Bean, will you? We’re to fire him.
Marvellous. Mr Bean is the worst employee in the gallery’s history.
Good afternoon, sir.
Chairman ( Mr Walton): Sit down.

Mr Bean sat and waited outside the room. Why did these important people want to see him? Suddenly, he sneezed loudly. He took out a paper handkerchief and blew his nose. Then he blew it again. Then again, more loudly — the noisiest nose-blow in the world!
Mr Walton called Mr Bean into the room. When he walked in, he smiled at everybody. They all looked at him … and started laughing! Mr Bean looked very stupid!
‘Excuse me, Mr Bean,’ Mr Walton said, ‘um … ah … something’s coming out of your nose!’
It was some of his paper handkerchief! It looked very funny! Mr Bean’s face went red and he quickly pulled the paper out of his nose.
‘Now, Mr Bean. We want to ask you something. It’s important — and very exciting. Would you like to go to America?’

IV. 1. Grammar: Translate into English using the models:

VII. 1. Grammar: if-sentences.
Study the rule:
We use 'if' and 'whether' to report general questions in indirect speech. And we also move the Subject right after "if/whether"
For example: (1)Are (2)you (3)coming with us? [direct speech] --> He asked if (1)he (2)was (3)coming with them [indirect/reported speech].
"(1)Should (2)the dinner (3)be ready by 8 or by 9?.." she wondered....[direct speech] --> She was not sure whether (1)the dinner (2)should (3)be ready by 8 or by 9. [indirect/reported speech]
Report the following questions in indirect speech. Use 'He asked/ They asked":
